My favourite Ron Paul commentary so far

with 2 comments

From Judeosphere (via Jeff Weintraub):

Ron Paul Supporters: You can count on three things uniting the far-left and the far-right: (1) Paranoid distrust of the U.S. government (2) Hatred of Israel (3) Ron Paul. While I personally have no strong feelings about Ron Paul, his campaign has engendered a weird-bedfellows coalition that includes 9/11 truthers, white supremacists [like these guys--JW], opponents of “world government,” and advocates for a return to the gold standard. I salute you Ron Paul: You’re a uniter, not a divider.

  1. He is a uniter because he follows the Constitution. It was very difficult in the founding of this nation to unite the States. They were quite different, especially in the religious views. Calvinists, Quakers, Puritans, and Lutherans where deeply divided. Also, many New Worlders were very nervous about centralized power - what with the violation of their Natural and God given Rights by the King of England. It took a document of pure restraint and equality under the law to unite the colonists. Because Ron Paul believes that the healing that eminated from that document is still there, he is using his belief in the Constitution, Federal restraint, and equality under the law to unite formerly divided factions in contemporary America under the banner of Patriotism and the American way. That is a message even normal guys like me can support.
